We’ve condensed to one lifting idea. We’re considering using 8020 as the frame to our lift; apparently they make plastic sliders for it but we can’t find any info on the site at all. Our entire lifting device will be no more than 18 lbs, and we’ll potentially have 125″ of vertical reach.
We’re looking at a couple possibilites as far as the end effector – it may be made to flex up and down so we can mount the lift as close to the front of the robot as possible. We’re also throwing around some ideas to floor load a la 931 in 2008 – ish; tomorrow promises to be a strong prototyping and CAD day.
We’ve got one scoring rack made out of PVC and 2x4s. Man that thing is huge. Tomorrow we will knock out a lane.
It’s an exciting year; we’re moving at a quick and productive pace. Hopefully our nanotubes will come soon and we can start building our realbot; practicebot is underway.
