We’re having to do a little bit of redesign to our original parts – since the shop didn’t have access to a bender, we’re having to make our own. We’re taking the machined parts and bolting them to angle aluminum to attach to the frame. A bit of a setback, but an expected one. We’ll know to design the parts differently in the future.
Big day for programming – the robot followed the line perfectly, and even made the decision at the Y. That was cool to see.
As it is, all we have to do is wire in one denso motor and we’ve got ourselves a fully functioning robot. It moves, it scores on the bottom row, it plays defense. Soon we’ll get the deployment system and floor loader system on; when the belts and pulleys come in from Gates we’ll be able to lift the lift. For the ride we’ve had this year, we’re confident in where we stand right now. We really ought to have a fully working robot by the Muncie Pre-Ship Scrimmage.
